Tuli and Skora - two new herbicides just in time for the spring market
AgChemAccess, the global crop protection trading company, has announced the registration of two new herbicides, Tuli (clodinafop-propagyl) and Skora (fluroxypyr) just in time for this season's busy spring spraying season.
"These two herbicides are leading actives in their respective sectors and we are pleased to be able to bring them to market just when growers are planning their spring weed control programmes," says John Philips of AgChemAccess.
John explains that Tuli is a contact-acting grass-weed herbicide for use in winter wheat, spring wheat, triticale, rye and durum wheat. Formulated as a 240 g/l emulsifiable concentrate, it is well known for its excellent activity on wild-oats and rough-meadow-grass. He points out that it also has activity on black-grass, although this latter weed should normally have been controlled earlier in the crops' life. Tuli should be used with an adjuvant such as a methylated rapeseed oil and it is easily tank-mixed with a number of different products including fungicides, herbicides and trace elements. It can be used to control weeds up to flag leaf ligule just visible (GS 39).
"Skora is based on fluroxypyr, another key active ingredient with known and proven activity on a range of important broad-leaved weeds. Skora is registered for use in winter wheat, spring wheat, durum wheat, spring barley, winter barley, spring oats, winter oats, rye, triticale, forage maize, newly sown grass leys, rotational grassland and permanent grassland. It has excellent activity on cleavers, chickweed, field forget-me-knot, black bindweed, volunteer potatoes, red dead-nettle, knotgrass, fumitory, docks and nettles. Skora contains 200 g/l fluroxypyr formulated as an emusifiable concentrate and so offers the farmer more flexibility in their weed control programmes than many coformulated herbicides," according to John.
"Both products, Tuli and Skora, are easy to use liquid formulations and are key foundation products to build upon within any spring-applied herbicide programme. Neither is subject to LERAP. Their registration brings to over twenty registrations that AgChemAccess now have for the UK for this season," says Mr. Philips.
