Two new fungicides and one potato herbicide

Back to News Index

AgChemAccess, the global crop protection trading company, has announced three more registrations for this spring - two new fungicides, Aubrac (azoxystrobin) and Busa (chlorothalonil), and one new potato herbicide, Sarabi (metribuzin).

"These three products are leading actives in the market place and are important and flexible foundation products within a disease or weed control programme. In particularthe two fungicides have a wide range of crop uses including cereals, oilseed rape, pulses, potatoes, vegetables and fruit crops, with a wide range of potential uses on farm," says John Philips of AgChemAccess.

John explains that Aubrac is a systemic, translaminar and protectant strobilurin fungicide for use in many arable and horticultural crops. "Formulated as a 250 g/l suspension concentrate, it is well known for its excellent on activity on a range of diseases, as well as its additional physiological activity. The second fungicide Busa is a 500 g/l suspension concentrate of chlorothalonil. It is a fungicide that is much in demand for its multi-site and strong protectant activity. Its use in cereals has escalated as resistance problems have increased."

"Another key active ingredient, Sarabi contains 70% metribuzin, formulated as a Water Dispersible Granule. It is a selective residual herbicide for pre-and post-emergence control of important annual grasses and broad-leaved weeds in most early and main crop potatoes. Dose rates vary according to crop and soil type and growers should check their varieties before spraying," according to John.

"These recent registrations bring the number of new registrations that AgChemAccess has obtained for this season to twenty-five," points out Mr. Philips.
