Methylated rape seed oil

Methylated rape seed oil is an adjuvant that is combined with a plant protection product (herbicide, fungicide, pesticide or insecticide) in a spray mix in order to improve the performance for those products.

An adjuvant is a substance that is combined with a plant protection product (herbicide, fungicide,  pesticide or insecticide) in a spray mix in order to improve the performance for those products.  The function of an adjuvant is to reduce the surface tension of the water molecules,  therefore reduing the droplet size and increasing the coverage of the leaf as the plant protection product is delivered. This prevents the plant protection product from being spread unevenly across the surface of the plants, which normally results in increased usage of the product. The use of an adjuvant therefore enhances the effectiveness of the plant protection product due to increased penetration.  Most adjuvants for plant protection products are manufactured from crop oils or vegetable oils, as well as a non-ionic surfactant.   One of the most effective adjuvants is methylated rapeseed oil. Always read the label carefully before adding an adjuvant to your spray mix for any product.

Most plant protection products that require an adjuvant require a methylated rapeseed oil, consisting of an emusifiable concentrate of 47%  w/w oil (rapeseed fatty acid esters EAC1). For supply of adjuvants please contact AgchemAccess directly.
